Senior University: Kari Veiteberg – Faith, hope and courage

On Tuesday 17 November at 12:30, Kari Veiteberg is coming to Sprang with her talk Faith, Hope and Courage. Here, the former Bishop of Oslo will share thoughts and experiences on faith, community and what can provide hope in a turbulent time.

In an era characterised by terror and acts of war, Kari Veiteberg takes a closer look at what can give people support and the courage to live. Rituals, church spaces, lullabies and traditions can serve as frameworks for a community that sustains and provides hope.

Kari Veiteberg is a priest and was Bishop of Oslo from 2017 to 2024. Prior to this, she worked as a street priest for the Church City Mission, and she is known for her strong commitment to people in vulnerable life situations.

Veiteberg has written several books on theology and biblical themes, including Women of the Bible, Eve's daughters and The Bible in 200 pages. She is also known for using Nynorsk and a colloquial language both in writing and in speech. In 2020, she received the Målprisen.
