Barnas Turlag på Buhovda i Ål

Family trip to Buhovda

Barnas Turlag Ål invites you to a child-friendly mountain hike to Buhovda on 23 August at 11:00. Meeting point is at the car park with the information board at Halle, also called Hallestølen, on Hevjanåsen.

Buhovda lies 1,149 metres above sea level and is the highest peak along the marked trails on Øvre Ålsåsen. From the car park, the walk is approximately one kilometre on a gentle incline to the summit, where there are views in all directions.

From the top, participants can either return the same way or continue 600 metres to Holtetjørni. By the tarn there are several benches and the opportunity for a lunch break. The circular route via Holtetjørni continues for a further 1.6 kilometres along an easy path back to the car park. The entire round trip is approximately 3.2 kilometres.

Practical information

The trip lasts for approximately 3–4 hours. It is free, but a toll must be paid. There is a toll road and a car park at Halle. The trip leaders will bring first-aid equipment.

Parents/guardians are responsible for their own children throughout the trip. The trip leaders facilitate the trip, activities and play.

Photographs may be taken during the trip for use in DNT's publications and on the organisation's own websites. Please inform the trip leader if you or your child do not wish to be photographed.
