The forest is a place the artist returns to, both physically and mentally. In her works, she explores the forest as a space for stillness, presence and mental recovery. Trees, branches, rhythms and openings become landscapes that convey an experience of nature.
The works oscillate between drawing and painting and are built up in layers with ink, gesso, pencil, acrylic and gouache on paper and canvas. Many of the works have a subdued black-and-white aesthetic, in which light, lines and negative spaces are central.
Some works also contain organic impressions and structures that have arisen through contact with frost, water and the nature surrounding the artist.
